MaRou manufactures a range of home and interior products mainly from natural and recycled materials. All of our products are handcrafted in Lapland from start to finish with passion and love. Most of the products have been created as custom-made products for our customers' needs and they have then become a permanent part of our collection. Please don't be afraid to contact us if you have a unique product in mind. 

Unfortunately we cannot offer online shopping right now, but please contact us when you find a product you like, we may have it in stock for you. If you can't find a product you like among the ready-made products, don't worry, we can also create products according to your wishes.

Fragrance-free workshops

The workshops are perfect for associations, friend groups or even companies. Our workshops are tailored to the client's wishes and needs in terms of duration and content. There are different options for making things by your own hands.

The basis of all our operations is in the felted slippers

The business was founded so that we could acquire material to make felt slippers - so you could say that our business started with felt slippers.
Similar handmade felt slippers are not made anywhere else, and over the years we have made our own models, so that the felt slippers would fit the feet of Finns in particular. Like many other products in our product range, the creation of the slippers started out of (our) own need and has since expanded.

Since we created different model styles for different slippers, we also named them as uniquely as the products themselves are. Nature is an important value for our operations and nature has served as a source of inspiration for the names of the slippers.

Pirtti

Pirttivaara on innoittanut nimen näille värillisenä toteutetuille tossuille. Tilan läheisin pitkä ja loiva vaara on oiva nimi tälle tossumallille. Samalla nimi tuo vanhan maatalon tuntua.

Käyräs

The name of the Käyräs slippers comes from the Käyrästunturi mountain, located near MaRou's office and the owner's home. It is the only mountain in Rovaniemi. .

Ruuna

Ruunajänkä sijaitsee ihan MaRoun toimipisteen tilan vieressä ja on innoittanut Ruunatossujen nimeämistä. Kyseinen jänkä on toiminut hiihtoladun pohjana talvisin.

Kippura

Unlike other slippers, the name Kippura comes from the design of the slipper. The model is a traditional Laplandic model with an upward curved toe. The toe of the model resembles a traditional fur boot of the Sami people.
